India to host first BIMSTEC Home Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi

India is scheduled to host the inaugural BIMSTEC Home Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi on October 13, 2026. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to lead the Indian delegation. Home ministers and senior representatives from BIMSTEC member states will participate. The meeting will focus on terrorism, drug trafficking and cyber threats. It aims to strengthen regional security cooperation among Bay of Bengal countries. The meeting is significant because BIMSTEC links South and Southeast Asia without Pakistan’s participation.
