Centre extends Agniveer service tenure by two years for 75% of candidates
The Centre has approved a two-year extension of service for 75% of Agniveers completing their initial four-year tenure. The announcement was made by Chief of Defence Staff General NS Raja Subramani. The extension applies to Agniveers who were due to exit the armed forces. After the extended period, eligible personnel may seek absorption into the armed forces. Selection for absorption will follow objective criteria. The decision modifies the original four-year service structure under the Agnipath scheme.[1]
